MedTech International – turning innovation into impact
At MedTech International, we specialise in accelerating the global commercialisation and strategic growth of high-potential innovations across medical devices, digital health, BioTech, FoodTech, and AgTech.
Founded by industry leader Warren Bingham in 2014, our mission is to help organisations – startups, scaleups or established players – navigate the complex path from proof of concept to commercialisation, with a clear focus on improving patient outcomes, transforming health systems, advancing sustainable food and agriculture innovation, and delivering lasting economic and social value.
Firm foundations
MedTech International is built on over 30 years of industry expertise, spanning commercial strategy, health innovation, and startup growth.
One of the most defining chapters began in 2001, when Warren Bingham established the Australian subsidiary of Given Imaging Ltd, introducing the world-first PillCam® technology to Australia and New Zealand. This capsule-sized, swallowable camera transformed gastrointestinal diagnostics by offering a non-invasive, safe, and cost-effective alternative to traditional procedures.
By 2004, Warren successfully led the inclusion of Capsule Endoscopy onto Australia’s Medicare Benefits Scheme, a global first in national healthcare reimbursement for this technology, and a turning point in patient access and medtech commercialisation.
Whilst serving on the global management team from 2000, the company grew from a startup to a multinational, publicly traded company with revenues exceeding $250 million in 2013. In February 2014, Covidien acquired Given Imaging for approximately $1 billion.

MedTech International drives innovation, delivering advanced medical solutions that transform healthcare, cutting-edge technologies that boost sustainable farming and food security, and pioneering food innovations that enhance production, safety, and nutrition worldwide.
Here are a few examples of how we’ve helped founders and organisations turn innovation into impact.
Pioneering VisionTech
ARIA Research is pioneering the world’s first commercially scalable noninvasive bionic vision system, empowering over 338 million blind and vision-impaired people globally to perceive their surroundings through sound. By combining spatial computing, artificial intelligence, and user-centred co-design to create smart glasses, the system translates visual information into immersive 3D auditory cues.
Named 2023 Australian Tech and MedTech Company of the Year, ARIA has leveraged MedTech International’s strategic vision, industry expertise, and advocacy for inclusive innovation, which has been instrumental in its rapid growth and collaborations with leading blindness organisations and government partners. The partnership has been pivotal in driving ARIA’s product development, commercial strategy, and global planning, positioning the technology to deliver real-world impact for people with vision disability.

FoodTech Innovation
OmnisOva is an Australian biotechnology company focused on developing advanced breeding technology to produce safe eggs for people with severe egg allergies. With the support of a $1.47 million Cooperative Research Centres Project grant and in collaboration with industry and CSIRO, OmnisOva is working to remove ovomucoid (OVM), a key protein responsible for allergic reactions, from chicken eggs. This innovation aims to deliver allergen-safe eggs, addressing a significant unmet need for those who suffer from severe egg allergies.
As Executive Chairman, Warren leads the Board in setting OmnisOva’s strategic direction, strengthening partnerships with CSIRO and securing grant funding.
Warren’s experience in commercialisation and health innovation is helping position OmnisOva as a global leader in allergen-safe food solutions, to make safe eggs accessible to millions worldwide.
AgTech Revolution
